Which systems does Lecta support?
Lecta runs on macOS 12.3 and later, and Windows 10 and later. Both platforms have the same features, and your account and Pro benefits work across them.
Are my recordings uploaded to the cloud?
No. Lecta is a local-first tool: screen recording, video editing, and subtitle generation all happen on your own computer, and your original footage is never uploaded to any server. Subtitles are generated by a built-in offline model that does not connect to the internet.
How are subtitles generated? Are they accurate?
Lecta includes the whisper.cpp speech recognition model, which transcribes English and Chinese speech offline on your device—no internet required. It also supports "text-based editing": delete a wrong sentence in the subtitle script and the matching video clip is trimmed automatically.
What is the difference between Free and Pro?
The free version lets you record an unlimited number of times, with a 10-minute limit per recording, a watermark on exports, and up to 1080p. Pro unlocks unlimited duration, no watermark, 4K / original resolution, subtitle generation, AI denoise, camera effects, smart cut, and every other feature.
What is "one-click smart cut"?
Lecta analyzes your recording and flags silent gaps, filler words (um, uh, you know...), and repeated retakes. You confirm, and they are cut in one click. A 40-minute lesson often loses several minutes of dead air, making the final video much tighter.
How is Pro priced?
